Welcome to WIld and Free's Quest 10 Blog. With the race now only 3 days away everything is coming together nicely. On Monday I went up to Cody (sled Builder) and Paiges place to thaw out my sled, make a few small improvements and let the master take a look at his creation after a season of abuse from me. This is the first year that I have Driven one of Cody's Dog Paddle Design Sleds and I have been nothing but happy with it. I have put the sled to the test from carrying heavy loads of just gear, to people and at one point 200 pounds of rocks!!, and the sled has shown no sign of weakness. I am extremely confident in the sled and am really excited to use it in the the Quest this year and for years to come. Cody is relatively new to Sled building but has worked with wood for years and is an experienced Wood Kayak Builder, he has a real talent. Fellow musher and Friend Mike Ellis was also up at the shop giving his sled a once over and found one of his main supports cracked, in 20 minutes cody had a replacement part that I would of thought you had to order before knowing Cody! Nothing like having a master sled builder at your fingertips. I cant thank Dog Paddle Designs for setting the Wild and Free Team up with a great sled, thanks for your support. I highly recommend Codys sleds to any musher, he builds a sled for anyones needs. Checkout the DOG PADDLE DESIGNS website at
www.dogpaddlegear.com . Im headed out on one of the final training runs. thanks for checking in and stay tuned for more updates as the race draws near. I also want to say hi and send a big thanks out to the kindergardeners, 1st and 2nd graders at St. Johns Elementary in Excelsior MN. the place where I spent my childhood! Thanks for being great fans and sponsoring Jerry for this years Quest. Ill be thinking about you guys out on the trail!!!
